CineClub: Kezkaza Wolafen

With inmense delight we saw this Ethiopian film, the first from this country to be internationally shown.

Love and AIDS are the focus of its 131 minutes, giving a warning to a country where approximately one in every seven adults is infected with HIV (source: Unicef) and where President Meles Zenewi deliberately spreads the virus among his regime’s political prisoners.

Kefale Alemu, coordinator of Ethiopian Health Support Association, introduced the film. His charity is dedicated to promote the mental well-being and improve the health status of Ethiopians in UK by providing sensitive and culturally appropriate health & health related services.
